Indira Gandhi National Open Schooling ( IGNOS) formely knownas IGNOS was established in November,1990 as a autonpmous organisation in pursuance of National policy on Education  1990 by the Ministry of Education ( MOE ) ,Government of India , IGNOS is provding a number of Vocational, Life Enrechment and community orinted course besides General and Academic course at secondary and senior secondary lavel . It also offers Elementary level Course through its openBasic Education programmes  ( OBE ) .Government of India through a Gazette notification vested IGNOS with the authority to examine and certify learners registered with it upto pre degree level course whether Academic Technical or Vocational . Association  of Indian  Universities vide latter NO;- EV/14(455) / 201 OCT 1990 issued Equvivalence of Secondaryand  senior secondary Certificate Examination of IGNOS
